About Truman Medical Centers
Quality, compassion, technology and innovation are at the heart
of Truman Medical Centers, located in Kansas City, Mo. The TMC
Health System includes TMC Hospital Hill, TMC Lakewood, TMC
Behavioral Health, the Jackson County Health Department and a
number of primary care practices throughout the metropolitan
area. Recently named one of the nations’ top academic medical
centers, TMC is the primary teaching hospital for the University
of Missouri-Kansas City Schools of Health Sciences and
specializes in asthma, bariatrics, diabetes, women’s health, and
trauma services.
Pharmacy Practice Residency Program Goals
Pharmacists completing this residency will be competent and
confident pharmacy practitioners of direct patient care in
various environments. They will be able to provide drug
information to any health care team, possess independent
leadership skills, teaching skills and communicate well in
personal and group settings. They will demonstrate professional
and personal maturity by following a philosophy of professional
practice, monitoring their own performance, exhibiting a
commitment to the profession, and exercising leadership in
improving the safety of the medication use system.
