Trauma informed care is an approach to engaging people with histories of trauma that recognizes the presence of trauma symptoms and acknowledges the role that trauma has played in their lives.
TMC Behavioral Health provides training for staff, leaders, consumers, and others to facilitate the implementation of trauma-informed care and trauma-specific interventions in a range of service systems. TMC also provides case consultation services to assist mental health professionals and physicians who work with high-exposure populations or individuals who have experienced trauma. With a better collective understanding of trauma, more consumers and survivors will find their path to healing and wellness.
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, commonly referred to as PTSD, is a mental health condition that can occur after an individual has been through a traumatic event.
It is normal to have stress reactions after a traumatic event. However, if these symptoms persist for two to three months or longer after the traumatic event, emotions and behavior can change in ways that are troubling.
TMC’s treatment team consists of Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Psychology Residents and Interns, and Licensed Psychologists who have been trained in specialized treatments designed specifically to target trauma related symptoms. Our providers are trauma informed and dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment to each client as they work to recover.
