As a leader in mental health, TMC's Behavioral
Health services provide a comprehensive array of mental health and substance
abuse treatment to persons living in the Kansas City, Mo., metropolitan area.
Services are available at the TMC Hospital Hill and
TMC Lakewood campuses. Mental health treatment provided by TMC
Behavioral Health is based on the unique strengths, needs and experiences of
each individual to whom we provide care.
We believe that mental health is an important part of overall health. Our outpatient services are an integrated part of treatment provided
by TMC Hospital Hill clinics and the emergency departments of both TMC
Hospital Hill and TMC Lakewood.
- Behavioral Health's primary location on
Hospital Hill makes it easy for most clients to access primary and mental
health care at one location.
- Specialized services are available at satellite
clinics that are conveniently located near the Hospital Hill and Lakewood
campuses.
- Behavioral Health also provides inpatient psychiatric
treatment for adults at TMC Hospital Hill and TMC
Lakewood.
All of our mental health services are aimed at assisting clients in
managing the symptoms of their illness and in improving functioning in their
day-to-day lives. Services also provide the support many persons with mental
illness need to regain a sense of meaning and purpose in life. If you need

Case Management helps those with the most serious
illnesses learn necessary skills to function in their day-to-day lives and
assists them in connecting with community resources, providing them with a
sound support system.
Mental Health Crisis and Outreach Services provides 24
hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week assistance.
Mental Health Assessment identifies an individual's
specific mental health needs to create a unique and individual treatment
plan.
Employment Services helps persons with mental
illnesses find and keep jobs that they enjoy and are good at in the
community.
Inpatient Mental Health Treatment focuses on treating mental health symptoms
to help patients return to living in
the community as soon as possible.
Occupational Therapy helps persons with mental
illnesses regain, develop, or master everyday skills in order to live
independent, productive, and satisfying lives.
Peer Support helps people with mental illnesses
learn from the experiences of others who live with these illnesses.
Pharmacy Services provides a place where prescriptions written by
TMC Behavioral Health doctors can be filled and easily accessed.
Physician and Medication Services assists in
managing symptoms of mental illness.
Rehabilitation Services works to support persons with the most
serious mental illnesses build strong relationships, learn job-related skills,
and connect with social and leisure interests in the community.
Substance Abuse Treatment helps persons understand and
reduce the harm that is caused by using drugs and/or alcohol.
Therapy and Counseling assists with helping children,
adolescents, adults and families cope with many different kinds of stresses
and life problems.
