Truman Medical Centers is committed to providing a healthy start to the
babies in the community.
Truman Medical Centers, in conjunction with US Bank and University
Physician Associates is offering "Bright Futures," a program for babies born
at TMC Hospital Hill.
This program presents a number of opportunities to give new mothers the
knowledge, confidence and support they need during their pregnancy and after
the birth of their baby.
New moms and moms-to-be receive a "Bright Futures" passport at
pre-registration, prenatal appointment or upon delivery. Each time they
participate in a specific activity they receive a stamp in their passport
booklet. After collecting the required number of stamps, the booklet can be
redeemed for gift cards, vouchers for the TMC Produce Market, or a toddler
car seat.
One of the stamp incentives is opening a child's bank account at the US
Bank TMC Hospital Hill branch. Parents will receive a certificate for $50 to
open the account, with funding provided by US Bank, TMC and University
Physician Associates. The purpose of this initiative is to establish a
savings account for the children and promote financial literacy among the
parents.
The other incentives link families back to TMC through a variety of
activities offered through TMC Community Engagement and Women's Health
Services.
These activities can include healthy screenings through our Mobile
Wellness Unit, participation in educational program session offered at the
Bluford Library, attendance at TMC healthy workshops, taking a wellness or
fitness class, or the many programs offered through the Women's Clinic to
encourage healthy babies.
