Hospital Hill Auxiliary Mission & History
The mission of the Truman Medical Center Hospital Hill Auxiliary
is to secure financial and volunteer aid for patients and staff, and to
support the Center's mission in the community.
The TMC Hospital Hill Auxiliary was organized in 1956 and incorporated in
1957. Throughout the history of the organization, well over a million
dollars has been donated to the benefit of the medical center's patients,
staff and community.
Through fundraising enterprises such as the Auxiliary Gift Shop, vending
machine commissions and vendor sales, the Auxiliary is able to donate in
excess of $100,000 annually for capital equipment and hospital programs. A
favorite cause is the TMC Breast Cancer Patient Navigator.
The Auxiliary also provides financial support for the purchase of patient
comfort items such as clothing, shoes and hygiene products. Additionally,
materials for baby layettes and robes are underwritten by the Auxiliary.
Local and regional groups of sewing, knitting and crocheting artists
contribute beautiful robes, pillows and lap quilts for patients.
2010 Membership Drive
