Those forward-looking initiatives are just two of the latest efforts we believe proves that when it comes to leading the way toward a healthy community, TMC walks the talk.

      • “I have no idea how I got Hep C.
        TODAY, I AM CURED
        and feel so much better!”

      Hepatitis C Screenings

IF YOU WERE BORN BETWEEN 1945 - 1965 YOU ARE FIVE TIMES MORE LIKELY TO HAVE HEPATITIS C!

Hepatitis C is a potentially life-threatening disease caused by a virus that attacks the liver. It is contracted through blood-to-blood contact with an infected person which can happen in a variety of different ways. Hepatitis C often has no symptoms until it reaches an advanced stage so you may not be aware that you have the disease.

The reason that people born between 1945–1965 have high rates of hepatitis C is not completely understood. The CDC Website reports that most baby boomers are believed to have become infected in the 1960s through the 1980s when transmission of hepatitis C was highest.

The good news is that all it takes is a blood test to find out if you have Hepatitis C and according to the FDA most cases of Hepatitis C can be cured with a daily combination of pills over a period of just 12 weeks.

FOR A LIMITED TIME, FREE FIRST-TIME HEPATITIS C SCREENINGS ARE AVAILABLE NOW!

      CALL 816-404-7410

Or, fill out the form and we will contact you to schedule a screening at one of our 9 convenient Truman Medical Centers/University Health locations.

Breaking Ground on University Health Community Care Linwood

Community Care LinwoodTruman Medical Centers is thrilled to have ‘officially’ broken ground a unique partnership designed to improve Kansas City’s health and wellness. We are talking about a one-of-a-kind project: a health clinic in a Kansas City YMCA.

University Health at the Linwood Y will be a 7,000-square foot clinic serving YMCA members and those in the surrounding community. Providers at the clinic will be able to refer people to YMCA programs to help them manage their conditions. The goal is to reduce and manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, arthritis, and high blood pressure to create a healthier, more physically active Kansas City. “I have long said that healthcare shouldn’t just happen within the four walls of a hospital,” said Truman CEO, Charlie Shields. “Truman Medical Centers has been working for years to get out into the community with neighborhood clinics and at grocery stores. But this is the first time we will be providing care in a YMCA.”
